CPU requires that each residential account be covered by a deposit. The deposit is to be paid at the time services are initiated and is a non-interest-bearing deposit. After an account has been closed by demand of CPU due to non-payment, all funds, including deposits and refunds, will be applied against amounts owed to Clarksdale Public Utilities 30 days from date of close. If there is a credit balance on the account, the accounting department will issue a refund to the customer-owner.
