Position Summary

Performs tasks related to the efficient, dependable operation and maintenance of power and water production facilities.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to Shift Supervisor

Essential Functions
  • Performs routine tasks to ensure the operation and maintenance of facilities.
  • Performs maintenance activities on generating equipment to minimize malfunctions.
  • Ensures plant operations comply with environmental regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager.
External Relationships
  • Customers: Provides information and assistance when required.
  • Civic and government leaders: Cooperates when required.
  • Industry professionals: Cooperates when required.
  • Law enforcement: Cooperates when required.
  • General public: Maintains good relations in all contacts with the public.
Working Conditions

Works in a power plant environment in which there is frequent exposure to noise, heat, dust, or hazardous conditions.

Position Specifications

Job Knowledge:
Safe work methods and safety practices pertaining to work.

Ability to:
Communicate effectively with others. Function as a team player. To lift to 75 pounds, climb, kneel, stretch, reach, dig, use tools, and perform physical labor. Work in various weather conditions

Education and Experience:
Any combination of experience and education that would likely produce qualifying knowledge and ability. A typical combination is:

Education:
High school diploma or GED certificate

And

Experience:
One (1) year of experience as a laborer or assistant is preferred.

Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Mississippi
