During difficult economic times, CPU wants to be part of the solution

At a time when prices for everything have been rising, the falling temperatures of autumn are a welcome respite from the heat. Power usage is also down now that air conditioners are no longer working overtime to keep homes and businesses comfortable.

We cannot control the weather or rising energy prices that are impacting utilities nationwide. But there are factors that we can control, especially when it comes to energy efficiency.

In the coming weeks, Clarksdale Public Utilities will share tips from our Simple Steps initiative to help customers make their homes more energy efficient in preparation for colder weather. Most of these do-it-yourself strategies are either low-cost or no-cost and can make a difference on lowering bills.

CPU also is taking action to control costs by continuously analyzing our operations to ensure that our workforce and our utility systems are performing as efficiently as possible.

We have said before that CPU belongs to the people we serve — our customers. We continue to be guided by the commitments we made in our Bright Future initiative to deliver the highest levels of reliability, innovation and community focus.

CPU takes pride in being responsible stewards of Clarksdale’s utility systems, and we will continue working to help customers and earn their trust every day.
