“The State Auditor’s Office announced today in a press release the indictment and arrest of a former Clarksdale Public Utilities employee. In late 2018, the current new management at Clarksdale Public Utilities discovered certain discrepancies and conducted an internal investigation. Subsequently, the results of that investigation were turned over to the State Auditor’s Office which then opened its own investigation. CPU takes seriously its opportunity to serve Clarksdale and assures our customers that steps were taken to address this matter as soon as it came to our attention. Any questions concerning this matter should be directed to the State Auditor’s Office.”
