CPU’s PowerLine Portal Puts Control in Customers’ Hands

Customers can check balances, pay bills and sign up for alerts

In today’s busy world, it’s helpful to make life as simple as possible. And Clarksdale Public Utilities’ secure online customer portal can help you do just that.

Through PowerLine, customers can take control over their utility accounts through secure 24/7 access allowing them to check balances, pay bills and sign up for alerts. They also can sign up for information about power outages and estimated times for service restoration.

What’s more, customers will see their account activity in greater detail along with helpful graphs showing their billing and usage history. And those with multiple service accounts will appreciate a feature that allows them to see all account balances at once. It’s especially convenient for commercial customers such as hospitals that may have 50 or more service accounts with CPU.

“When we launched our upgraded portal, we wanted to put the keys in customers’ hands so they could address common needs efficiently and at times most convenient for them,” said Curtis D. Boschert, CPU general manager. “Investing in this technology also allows our customer service employees to address other issues, and spend time helping customers who need it most.”

In addition to PowerLine, the company offers a mobile app for iOS and Android smartphones. The free option builds on the same features offered in the portal and allows customers to manage their accounts anywhere, anytime. Customers who use CPU’s mobile app must be registered in PowerLine; those who are not registered can use the app to create a portal ID.

“These tools are examples of ways we’re enhancing service and strengthening our connection with customers,” said Boschert. “It’s all part of our Bright Future initiative, a comprehensive strategy to increase customer satisfaction by addressing performance in three key areas — reliability, innovation, and community focus.”
